I want to share with you what it means to address your health holistically, and this is an important concept of our Healing Hypothesis. If you recall, our Healing Hypothesis is made up of 8 concepts that represent the lessons I learned along my healing journey, and they are our to guide to help you change your life, feel better and heal.

We need to look at your lifestyle holistically and take into account all pieces of the puzzle, in addition to addressing underlying imbalances in your biochemistry, because there are other factors that can be contributing to your health problems.  

Are you stressed out? Do you sleep well? What is your home, and work environment like? Do you live in a busy city or in a rural area? These are only examples of other factors that we need to consider.  

This is why I spend on average 90 minutes with you during our first session. We need to uncover all possible clues that may be contributing to the health challenges you have.

Let’s explore a couple of these factors. We’ll look at stress first, because we all have it. I know it has been a trigger for my health issues over the years.

Stress can adversely impact your health, and thwart other efforts towards improvements.

Lots of things can lead to stress. Job interviews, test taking, fighting with a loved one, these are just some examples of acute or short-term stress, they are normal, don’t last long, and your body can recover quickly from them.

Chronic or long-term stress can result from a wide range of factors like problems at work, unemployment, feeling lonely, environmental pollution, problems in relationships, and even from illness.

Notice that both emotional stress and physical stress can lead to the same types of physiological changes in the body that bring on the stress response. When this occurs long-term, it can have severe health consequences because your body doesn’t have a chance to recover.

The second most common lifestyle problem I see in my practice, and also happen to experience myself, is trouble sleeping.

It is estimated that 50-70 million Americans have chronic sleeping problems. Getting enough sleep is crucial to good health, and unfortunately there is a wide range of medical barriers to it. Nutrition can influence sleep disturbances, and there are diet, food and nutrient strategies that can help.

Addressing sleeping problems is an integral part of your health and wellness plan. Problems sleeping can be caused by a wide range of health problems, and can also cause a wide range of health problems.

There are supplement interventions that can help with stress and sleeping issues too. Using specific, targeted supplements for these concerns, and others, is important for your healing journey, and is a component of our Healing Hypothesis.
